So obviously

I quit with my 200 situps haha. Surprising I know...I'm just tired in the evening and I don't feel like doing it. I walk 3 miles each day and I feel like for now that is enough.

My pet peeve today is people that throw religion into everything. Not everything is a religious ordeal. Do you pray before you poop? I mean really...give it a rest. Yes God knows whether you are going to choose Taco Bell or Subway for lunch, but for the most part I don't think his decision creates your destiny in life.

I also am tired of people who toot their own horns constantly. When you do this and you do end up winning something "big" no one gives a crap. For real. So this is why eventually people don't go on and on and congratulate you. Give up!

Week 2 Day 1

After Friday I was really sore. Today I did Day 1 of Week 2. It wasn't bad at all. Although doing situps with 3 animals in the house sucks. Everytime I raised up the dog was standing there trying to give me "kisses." Haha. The hubby already wussed out and hasn't done it since Day 1. His excuse is that I didn't do it with him. Whatev.

Fruit Pizza

I made this for our preschool graduation/end of year ceremony this weekend. It's a combo of a recipe my mother in law had and one I found online:

1 Package sugar cookie dough (the cook and bake kind)
1/3 cup powdered sugar
1 Teaspoon vanilla extract
1 Pkg Cream Cheese
Various fruit (blueberries, banana slices, strawberries, kiwi, cherries, etc)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spread the cookie dough flat on a baking sheet. Cook 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and allow to cool.

Mix cream cheese (at room temperature or warm in the microwave), sugar, and vanilla in a bowl until smooth. Spread on the cookie dough. Garnish with various fruits. Slice. Enjoy!

Days 2 & 3

I actually did days 2 and 3 both today. I was sick on Wednesday and yesterday was super busy so I didn't get to make it up then. I wish it worked my lower abs, but hopefully it was tone up the top of my abs. Days 2 and 3 weren't that bad.

Day 1 of 200 Situps

So I've decided that I don't particularly care if people say the 200 situps isn't a good ab workout. Yes I am aware that it only works 1 section of my abs, however I won't stick with any workout video so I'll do what I can.

I started out on week 1, column 3. From the initial test it said I could jump right to week 3, but I didn't want to..haha plain and simple. So I did day 1, easy breezy. I almost didn't do it, but at 9pm I did! I also walked 3 miles today, pushing a 30 pound child in a jogging stroller. Go Me!

200 Sit Ups

So I saw this posted on a message board on www.thenest.com and DH and I are going to do it. It's http://www.twohundredsitups.com . I've been walking 3 miles a day at least 4 days a week now so I think this will be a good addition. It's a M/W/F thing and I plan to stick with it. I'll check in each week here. Maybe someone will actually read it and hopefully it will be my motivation. I really need the workout on my abs.

Breakfast in bed

My wonderful husband made me breakfast in bed this morning. It was only after I suggested it however. I had yummy french toast with fresh strawberries. However we were almost out of syrup so it was a little dry. Not his fault though.

Today my wonderful dog is 9 years old. We've had her since she was like 4 months old and she is defintely my baby. Last night I made her some doggie icecream and I'm waiting for it to thaw a little so it'll slide out of the cup. She's sooo spoiled.

Doggie Ice Cream Recipe (idk where I originally got it)
32 ounces vanilla yogurt
1 mashed banana
2 tablespoons peanut butter
2 tablespoons honey
Blend all together in food processor or blender and freeze in either 3 ounce paper cups or ice cube trays

This new job...

This new job is kicking my butt. I'd gotten use to being off for 6 weeks and for the 4 months before that I was working half days. Now 9 hours a day is killing me. I am suppose to be done by 12 or 1 on Friday's, but tomorrow isn't looking like that is going to happen. The outgoing nanny made it sound like they told her I was going to be working until 5 on Friday's too....she gets off at noon. I mean the overtime is nice to have, but I need to get to the bank and grocery store tomorrow. Last night I went to bed at 9pm and it is looking like that will happen again tonight.

We are going camping this weekend. I have no urge to go because it is suppose to rain and be 90 degrees. Brent refuses to wait until next weekend when it is suppose to be cooler. We are going to Carolina Beach which should be nice, but ughhhhhhhh hot and sticky.

I won!

The contest that I blogged about! Of course I don't have a little one yet, but hopefully next year. This is the one we want: http://www.cafepress.com/konite.233923030 . Dh and I are both Irish and he is very "into" it.

In other news....I start my new nanny job on Monday. It's Saturday night and I'm a basket case. I know I'll be fine, I just hope I'm not horribly unhappy. I haven't worked fulltime since the beginning of March and I'm spoiled now.

I also see that I have 2 new blog followers haha! Maybe I'm not writing this in vain. Now if only my family would start reading it!

I wish I had followers and Recipe

I wish I had some more followers for my blog haha. Although writing sometimes helps me think things out...I see that everyone else has like 50+ followers and I have 3. I don't want to go beg people to read my blog however and I know it isn't very exciting.

This is what we had for dinner last night. I don't remember who I got the original recipe from. I also added some fire grilled green chilis to it and used brown rice instead of white.

Mexican Chicken
1 can Mexican style Rotel
chicken breasts or strips ( I only use boneless, skinless)
White rice
Shredded Cheese ( I use colby jack)
Butter
Put butter, chicken, & mexican rotel in a skillet. Cook, covered, over med heat, until done.
Cook rice according to package.
When everything is done layer rice, cheese, then chicken with rotel tomatoes & peppers.

An Awesome Contest

Nope not I, but I did find an awesome blogger that has a contest for some cute baby things. Check out her blog http://konite-empire.blogspot.com/ . Not that I have a baby yet, but I hope to have one in the next year to 18 months. Plus I always need baby gifts!!

I suck at blogging

However I was at my sisters house this past week so that is part of the excuse. I had a nice visit...I adore my neice and nephew. I made it home about an hour and a half late. After we boarded the plane 30 minutes late because they were "checking some things." Then we sat on the runway for over an hour...first we were waiting in queue because so many planes were back up. Then we had to wait for a giant thunderstorm to hit. We had a bumpy and somewhat scary take off, but all was well after that. I was due in Raleigh at 8:04 and go in at 9:25.

Brent and I are addicted to monopoly. We play every night and twice on the weekends. We have to see who can beat who the worst. Although he gets frustrated and says he isn't going to play anymore if I win a couple in a row. Big Baby!

Thursday I'm starting Zumba again. I joined a couple zumba meetup groups. They are rather expensive though. The one on Thursday is 8.00/class. So If I go twice a week that will be $64/month. I paid $30 to go in Kentucky twice a week and that was at the YMCA. I wasn't a member there. We defintely can't afford that each month.

I know I should be doing something productive

but I'm not....I'm sitting in front of the computer watching reruns of Spin City haha. In my defense I did get up this AM and go to walmart. I replaced the cats flea collars, walked the dog, changed the burnt out light bulb, ate lunch, started packing for the weekend trip and my trip next week, changed the litter box, and put the dishes in the dishwasher. It sounds like much more than it is. We are leaving tomorrow evening for Charleston SC for Brent's birthday. Tomorrow AM I'm baking him a birthday cake because I'll be gone next week. His actual birthday is Sunday. He has decided that he is working from home the whole day tomorrow so...he'll know about the cake when he smells it baking..unfortunately because I wanted it to be a surprise. Monday I'm flying to Philadelphia. I'm hoping for a smooth trip and no delays at the airports. It's a non stop flight which is awesome, and unheard of when I lived in WV. Now I'm going to go....ummm IDK maybe find a gift bag for Brents' birthday gifts...

When I read my blog...

I realize that most of the time I sound completely stupid. I was reading back through the previous entries just now and I've realized that I sound like a fifth grader. You would think that after 4.5 years of college I could write a little more eloquently. I think I defintely need to work on that.

I'm currently sitting at my parents house in WV. At 4 my mom and dad are driving me to Wytheville VA to meet up with Brent. While I've been here I've realized how amazing my mom and dad are. I absolutely 110% could not ask for better parents. I've also been blessed with an amazing mother and father in law. I honestly don't know what I would do without the 4 of them.

Brent returned to NC from his business trip between 11 and 12 today. They've already scheduled him for another trip next month. I'm so thankful that he has a job, but it strikes a nerve with me because this job advertised no overnight travel. He's gone at least once a month. Next month is only for 2 days, but still...I wasn't pleased with the amount of drinking that was done on this trip. I love my husband dearly, and obviously I too have drank more than I should in the past, but I've always despised drunk people. I've dated too many alcoholics and I hate hearing Brent when he's been drinking. I trust him 100%, I just hate the rambling and making no sense. You don't call someone at 10pm and tell them you'll call them back in a couple hours...wtf...that makes no sense.

West Virginia

So I've been in West Virginia since Thursday night. Brent was with me until Sunday then he went back to Raleigh and today is going to SC for business. We didn't do much for the fourth. His parents had a cookout, then we drove to Chapmanville to see the fireworks...they sucked... Monday I spent the day with my friend Miranda's daughter Skyler. She's almost six and she is a little fire cracker. Yesterday I got a new haircut! Woot! Although it looked better when it was curled yesterday.

Almost done with school

Tomorrow will be my last day at the preschool. It's sad...I love to teach, but I know we need the money. Our End of the Year Celebration was postponed due to illness (swine flu) so I'll get to see everyone again in August.

On a lighter note...we are leaving Thursday night to go to WV! Woot. Brent will be back on Monday, but I'm staying there until Friday. I love seeing my family and I'm way excited to see my BFF Miranda and her little one! I will defintely miss the hubby though...he'll be in SC for training and stuff for part of the week so I'd be alone even if I was home. I'm even excited about seeing my inlaws haha. I honestly do love my mother in law. She does make my head hurt occasionally though haha.

Tomorrow's the last day

of school...for the kiddos that is. We are still there until the 30th. I am so not looking forward to Saturday's graduation because I have to talk...I hate hate public speaking. Plus we have some kind of flu (possibly swine) break out at school. We had a total of 8 kids in the whole school today. Some are sick and some parents just kept their's home because they are scared. I wasn't raised in a house where you didn't send your kid to school. It helps them build up their immune system. The children that have it are only mildly ill...I understand you not wanting your child sick, but they probably aren't going to die. On an up note maybe they will cancel the Saturday festivities or postpone them until another day (preferably one where I am out of town :)

The hubby and I have decided that instead of Busch Gardens for his 30th we are going to go to Charleston SC and save Busch Gardens for late August or early September. I'm so pysched to go on the haunted jail tour in Charleston!

This Weekend

I've been so excited to have a weekend with not a whole lot to do. Next weekend is preschool graduation and I'm nervous because I have to talk in front of people (I'm a public speaking weenie). Last night Brent and I went to a meetup at the Durham Bulls Game. We met a couple great couples haha and I can defintely see us hanging out with them again. The Bulls lost :( Baseball is defintely not my thing. This AM I went and signed my nanny contract for the fall, then Brent and I hung out poolside. We watched Slumdog Millionaire, but I think it was over my head...I kept getting confused. Now we are watching Mall Cop...so we'll see how that turns out. In the AM I am babysitting a cutie for a couple hours..then home for more poolside action. Hopefully the boss lady will take it ok on Monday when I tell her the big news. I really will miss the preschool.

*Oh and I see I have a blog follower..woot woot! I'm a dork!

I suck at updating

Not that anyone reads my blog :( This past weekend DH and I went to the beach with my sister and her family. They are staying all week, but we had to come back on Sunday night. That really sucked! I'd like to fly up to see them next month, but idk if I'll be able to. I'm waiting for a final verdict on the nanny position. I told them I'd like to be their nanny and now I'm waiting to her from her on Thursday. Hopefully that will all work out. This coming Friday we are going to see the Durham Bulls...my hubby is sooo excited. I'm not sure that I won't get crazy bored haha.

I'm not good at crafty titles

So here I sit waiting on Brent to get home from work. It's raining outside, but I guess I can't complain because it hasn't rained in days. We're going tonight to see a kitten. We probably don't need it, but we want it haha. I've been working out with the 30 day shred for a week today. However I've skipped 2 days haha. Hopefully I'll get better at that. I had a moment at work today where I really hoped that I will get a fulltime nanny job in the fall. I still don't know if that is the best decision though because with a nanny position we would have to defintely wait before we started trying for a baby. They may not be so kind with me taking care of their kids if I had one of my own. Although I think we are going to wait a while. I do feel a STRONG urge to have a baby when I'm around everyone that is pregnant...especially since half of Brent's family is having a baby. However I know that financially we can't afford it right now, and it's nice to be able to do what we want when we want.

This Weekend

Over all it has been a good weekend. The hubster and I went to BINGO as a fundraiser for the preschool I work at yesterday. It ended up being a lot more fun then I expected. We didn't win a single game of BINGO, but I bought some raffle tickets and we ended up winning a 1 hour massage, a book, candles, a a set of coasters. I'm really excited about the massage.

Today I met with another family I may start babysitting for. That's fairly exciting because I like making the extra money and we need it. The hubby and I are going to the pool again today. I think I'm having an allergic reaction to the cholorine in the pool water though so I don't know if I should.

I suck at keeping up with this

So yes it has been over a week since I blogged...I'm not too good at this. I'm sitting here watching the neighbors move BACK into their apartment. They loaded up a trailor with all their stuff a couple weeks ago and it has been parked outside (which we aren't allowed to have here) since then. They dissappeared...I'm thinking maybe they got married...and now they are back and unloading stuff...WTF? They are very rude and they have a HUGE pitbull which you are not allowed to have here either. I don't know why people feel the need to bend the rules. I can not wait until we have a house of our own. I figure it'll be at least 2 years though.

Tomorrow I have to play bingo as a fundraiser for work. I don't really care to go but it's first thing in the morning. Oh well...hopefully then we are going to paint pottery which is the rest of my birthday present.

Today is my birthday!

I'm 24 today! I spilled the beans at work haha but it worked out nice because they took me to lunch at a yummy Asian place. I forget the name, but it is off of Holly Springs Road in Raleigh. Then the hubby brought me wonderful red roses and a yummy cookie dough ice cream cake from Coldstone! I love it! We had dinner at Qdoba (I had a coupon), but I wasn't a fan. Then I got a long massage! My favorite. Tomorrow evening we are leaving to go to WV. Tomorrow night and Saturday night with the inlaws. Then Sunday after church we're going to my parents house (celebrating my bday with them that night) and we'll come home Monday afternoon. It's always bittersweet leaving. I wish they were retired so they could come visit. I was hoping they would move to Raleigh in the future, but when my mom was here she said there is too much traffic and she can't find her way around...grrrr! Oh well! I wish everyone a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! I can't wait to go to the pool next week!

Yummy Grilled Chicken

My hubby is a fan of his new grill. Tonight we made a grilled chicken salad. This allowed me to have the vegetables I love and actually got him to eat some vegetables. Also it is healthy which we could both use. I ordered Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred DVD on amazon and I'm waiting for it to come. I need to get my butt in shape. Our pool at the apartment opens next Monday!!

My 1st Entry

So I've finally fallen to the blog craze! On thenest.com it seems like everyone has a blog so I've decided to try it. I'm Jenna..I'm almost 24 and my husband Brent is 29. We were married February 13th, 2009 and on March 9th we moved from good ole West Virginia to Raleigh NC. We figure if we can withstand all the changes we have in the first month of marriage (new town, new jobs, etc) then we'll be ok.

So far married life is great. Although I swear we got married and already we're an "old married couple." As far as living in Raleigh, I love that there is so much to do. In WV there are hardly any activities. We've joined a few meetup groups (www.meetup.com) to help meet new people. I've really enjoyed that thus far.

So here is to blogging! Hopefully I'll keep up with this!
